Private Jet Arrivals in Milan: Meeting You at the Aircraft Side of the Terminal

Flying privately into Milan is designed to save time, and the ground transfer should continue that, not undo it. Private and business aviation flights use dedicated terminals separate from the main passenger halls, with faster formalities and a different way of meeting your car. This guide explains how a chauffeur pick-up works for private jet arrivals at the Milan airports and what information makes it seamless.

Which airport

Linate is the closest airport to the city, about 8 km from the centre, and it is the airport most private flights to Milan choose when their aircraft and schedule allow. Malpensa, about 50 km north-west of the city, has a long runway and handles larger business jets and flights outside Linate's operating hours. Bergamo Orio al Serio, east of Milan, is also used by private flights, particularly for guests heading towards Lake Garda, Lake Iseo or the Dolomites.

Each of these airports has a general aviation terminal for private and business flights, separate from the main terminals. Formalities there are usually much quicker than in the main halls, and the walk from the aircraft to the exit is short.

How the pick-up works

For a private flight, your driver waits at the general aviation terminal rather than in the main arrivals hall. Depending on the airport and on the handling agent, the driver meets you at the terminal exit or, where permitted and arranged in advance by your handling agent, closer to the aircraft. Access to the apron is controlled by the airport and by the handling agent, not by us, so if you would like the car at the aircraft, ask your handling agent or your flight department to arrange it and send us the details.

What we need

To plan the pick-up we need the airport, the expected arrival time, the aircraft registration or the flight number used by the operator, the name of the handling agent if you know it, and the number of passengers and pieces of luggage. With the aircraft registration we can follow the flight. If the arrival time changes, your flight department or assistant can message us directly and the driver adjusts.

Waiting time

Because formalities for private flights are short, waiting time is also shorter. For private flights the first 30 minutes after landing are included. If you expect a longer stop at the terminal, for example for customs on a flight from outside the European Union with goods to declare, tell us and we plan accordingly.

Discretion

Many of our private aviation clients value discretion as much as speed. Our drivers do not discuss clients or their movements, do not post on social media and keep the name sign discreet or omit it entirely if you prefer. If you need a particular procedure, such as the driver contacting only your assistant, tell us when you book.

Choosing the vehicle

The Mercedes S-Class is the usual choice for principals travelling alone or as a couple: quiet, spacious in the rear and comfortable for calls on the way into the city. The Mercedes E-Class is a discreet alternative. For a family or a small group, the Mercedes V-Class seats up to seven with luggage. For larger parties, or a principal with staff and luggage, the Sprinter Luxury VIP carries up to eight, or we can send two vehicles together.

Onward journeys

Many private flights to Milan are followed by a drive to Lake Como, St. Moritz, the Ligurian coast or Switzerland. The car can take you directly from the general aviation terminal to your final destination, without entering the city. For mountain destinations in winter, the cars are equipped with winter tyres and chains.

Departures

For departures, tell us the airport, the departure time and the name of the handling agent. We plan the pick-up so you arrive at the general aviation terminal at the time your crew has asked for, with a margin for traffic.

How to book

Send us the airport, the arrival time, the aircraft registration or flight number, the handling agent, the passengers and the destination. Your assistant or flight department can book on your behalf. We confirm in writing, usually within 30 minutes, with an all-inclusive price.
