Florence is about 315 km from Milan on the A1, crossing the Apennines between Bologna and the Tuscan side. The trip is straightforward; the arrival needs more care. Much of the historic centre is a limited traffic zone, and access for vehicles depends on the street and the hotel. Tell us where you are staying and we confirm in advance how close the car can get, so there is no surprise at the end of the journey.
