7 days · Italy · Switzerland
Three Italian lakes and three Swiss icons in one loop from Milan: villas and boats on Lake Como, the Engadine at St. Moritz, Lake Lucerne and the Borromean Islands, with one chauffeur for the whole week.

Driving times are Google Maps estimates for a weekday in normal traffic. Every day can be changed: the route below is a starting point.
Day 1
Driving: about 1 h 40 min, 78 km
Pick-up in Milan or at the airport and a drive to Bellagio, on the point where the lake divides into its two branches. Afternoon at leisure, perhaps in the gardens of Villa Melzi just outside the village.
Day 2
The lake is best seen from the water. Ferries and private boats link Bellagio with Varenna, Menaggio and Tremezzo, where Villa Carlotta and its gardens open to visitors in season. The car can stay parked for the day, or take you to a lunch reservation on the shore.
Day 3
Driving: about 1 h 35 min, 62 km
Across the border into Ticino, Switzerland's Italian-speaking canton. Lugano has a lakefront promenade, a pedestrian old town and two funiculars to the viewpoints of Monte Brè and Monte San Salvatore.
Day 4
Driving: about 2 h 50 min, 183 km
A scenic drive up into the Engadine valley. St. Moritz sits beside its lake at about 1,800 metres, with mountain railways to Corviglia and Muottas Muragl. In winter this is ski country; in summer, walking and lake views.
Day 5
Driving: about 3 h, 225 km
North across the Alps to Lucerne, with its covered wooden Chapel Bridge, old town squares and lake steamers. Mount Pilatus and the Rigi are both within easy reach for a half day.
Day 6
Driving: about 3 h 25 min, 215 km
Back south across the Alps into Italy, ending in Stresa on Lake Maggiore. Boats leave from the waterfront for the Borromean Islands: Isola Bella with its palace and terraced gardens, and Isola dei Pescatori.
Day 7
Driving: about 50 min to Malpensa
A short final drive to Malpensa for your flight, or back to your hotel in Milan. If your flight is in the evening, there is time for a morning on the islands first.
Couples travel well in the Mercedes S-Class or V-Class. Families or friends with plenty of luggage take the Sprinter Luxury VIP, which carries up to eight passengers with their bags.
Hotels, meals and entrance tickets are chosen and booked by you, or by your travel planner.
